Scotland’s new National Litter and Flytipping Strategy
Scotland’s new National Litter and Flytipping Strategy is coming soon.
Scotland’s first Litter Strategy: Towards a litter-free Scotland: a strategic approach to higher quality local environments, was published by the Scottish Government in June 2014. In 2019 a review of that strategy was carried out and one of the recommendations was that a new National Litter and Flytipping Strategy be developed.
In a public consultation available between December 2021 and March 2022, the Scottish Government asked what should be in a new national strategy. After the consultation closed, the results were analysed independently and can be found on the Scottish Government’s website.
Work on the new strategy, based on the results of the consultation, is ongoing.
